Dear All happy cycle fans.

Thank you so much for your incredibly generous donations – I did it!!!!!!!!! ... and including gift Aid, I have now raised over £17,000 which is amazing. 323 miles in 3 days!!! The hardest thing I have ever done in my life - there are a LOT of very steep hills between here and Paris ... do not believe anyone who says that Northern France is flat!

Thursday, Day One: We left Hampton Court at 7am and reached Dover after 9 hours in the saddle. A very hot and sticky 120 miles and very hilly ... I lost nearly half a stone!

Friday, Day Two: We left Calais at 7am in beautiful sunshine. Within an hour we were riding through flash floods, torrential rain and thunder and lightning. We arrived for lunch 3 hours later, frozen, sodden and miserable. Thankfully it cleared up in the afternoon as we headed for Amiens. Great team banter and another 100 miles under our belt.

Saturday, Day Three: We left Amiens at 8am (a lie in!) and headed for Paris 104 miles away. Think about doing a marathon 3 days in a row and you will know how we were feeling. Everyone helped each other and 300 riders and 30 motor cycle cavalcade riders did the last 20 miles into Paris in 50 minutes – rolling road closures are the only way to travel into Paris! Amazing feeling and personal pride that we made it.

Thank you again for your support, I have had hundreds of emails wishing me luck and am deeply indebted to those who have helped me and sponsored me.

Once again, if you haven’t got around to making a donation you are still welcome to help me hit my personal target of £25,000 ... www.justgiving.com/russlindsay (or call my PA Ali Clapperton who will take cheque pledges – 0208 742 4950)

Thank you all very much
